For the GS-06 level:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level; OR One full year (18 semester hours) of successfully completed Graduate level education if the coursework is directly related to the work of the position (such as Business Administration or Accounting); OR Combinations of Graduate level education that is directly related to the position and specialized experience. The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. Examples of specialized experience are:
Following established controls to ensure that collections are billed, collected, and deposited to the proper accounts; Coordinate financial accounting systems for multiple program areas; Preparing and entering contract data into program databases; auditing financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
